Page Designer Block - Image Placements

Working on using the Page Designer Block to render workbook pages for 1000+ products. These pages include product photos, copy, bullet points, etc and include a string of icons and color swatches.
Currently in the strings of icons/color swatches I’ve had to convert the pngs to square shapes (with white backgrounds) to keep the Page Designer from cropping into them when placing multiples. What am I missing?
Finding the Page Designer Block has been great and MAY (fingers crossed) be a good stopgap until Airtable can provide a database connection for EasyCatalog/InDesign.
