"Sorry, we were unable to accept the invite"

What do I do to solve this problem?
I’ve been trying to join in with my new colleagues but can’t accept their invitations. I get this message over and over with no instructions on why it’s happening or what to do next. When I type the Airtable message into the Airtable support searchbar I get over a hundred hits but none of them tell me how to fix the problem.
When I go to Google for help the search engine autofills my question right away, which tells me that lots of people are having this problem.
I wonder why Airtable does not help people in this situation, but I really need to know what to do next.
