Status change requires new fields


I am trying to use Airtable as a pipeline manager. The linked data feature is great, but there are 2 things I’m wondering if I missing:

  1. When a status is changed a manager needs to be notified (I think I figured out how to do this)
  2. When a project is moved to a new status, there is additional data that was previously not available that we now need to have and it needs to be part of the change in status step.

Does anyone have any work arounds or ways to do this. Originally I thought of creating new tables and joining and creating forms. However, while that solves the required data problem, I now have have the same record in 2 status tables.
