I love Airtable—me and Mindvalley founder Vishen Lakhiani have been recommending Airtable to tens of thousands of our customers for years... and I included a lesson about Airtable AI into our "AI Mastery" program, however, the way your AI credits system works makes it difficult to recommend Airtable AI to anyone. Most probably your system uses credits every time you generate previews on "Long text" fields which is a very flawed UX design and/or unethical billing practice... because: • (A) You set GPT-4o as the default model (which is an overkill in 90%+ cases) and you don't allow users to set "GPT-4o mini" as the default. GPT-4o burns through credits like there's no tomorrow. • (B) You automatically generate previews (without asking for a user approval) and burn through their credits. • (C) You do not state in any documentation and you do not provide any warnings that AI credits are being used during test/preview runs. As a result of the above I received dozens of complaints from my students who burnt through their AI credits after using Airtable AI to fill in only a few cells during our training! This is nuts. Fix this ASAP. Billing issues are no joke. p.s. I'll soon deliver Airtable AI training to Mindvalley employees. As a result of that training we may purchase hundreds of additional AI Add-ons... but if you don't fix the above I'm afraid I'll not be able to approve purchasing the additional licenses.

I have a Generate with AI automation for extracting information from a document. However I get the following response. The prompt in the automation refers to the field with the document and the record has the field so I shouldn't be getting this error. I can't access external documents or links. Please provide the text or details from the document, and I'll do my best to help you extract the information.

Hi everyone, Jen Rudd here from Rudd Consulting! I wanted to share a quick recap of our latest AI User Group meeting and give you a sneak peek of what’s coming next month. In this session, we explored: AI-Ready Workflows: We talked about how to identify workflows that are perfect candidates for AI automation. From structured data and repetitive processes to time savings and strategic impact, we covered all the key attributes of AI-able workflows. Practical Use Cases: I shared a real-world example of automating artist contract data extraction. This demonstrated how AI can transform time-consuming manual tasks into streamlined processes, saving both time and effort. Live Workflow Evaluation: Thanks to participants who submitted their worksheets, we used Airtable’s AI tools to analyze and score workflows in real time. It was exciting to see how the AI identified potential savings and impact for various processes. Breakout Room Discussions: It was inspiring to hear participants share their own workflow challenges and ideas for using AI in their organizations. 💡What’s Next? Next month, we’ll take everything we’ve learned and apply it to CoBuilder in Airtable. We’ll use your AI-analyzed workflows to craft prompts that generate base structures, and I’ll share tips on refining those bases to make them even more effective. Save your spot here to join us on February 20! 📣Homework: If you haven’t already, fill out the workflow analyzer worksheet and upload it to our shared Airtable base. This will help you get the most out of next month’s session! 👀Remember - Please don’t share any sensitive information in your worksheet 👀 🔗Upload Your Workflow Here Looking forward to seeing you all next month as we dive into CoBuilder and start building AI-powered solutions together. If you missed this session, don’t worry—catch the recording to get up to speed! Let’s keep the conversation going in the comments—what workflows are you most excited to AI-enable?
