I have an automation based on a record entering a view. When I’m actively in the app, the record moves into the view and the automation is triggered. However, it seems if I’m away or off of my computer, the automation is not working. The view filter is based on a date/time calculation (record moves into the view when it’s within 10 minutes of the scheduled time). Any ideas? Should the automations be working automatically in the background or do I need to be logged in and using Airtable for them to trigger?

Welcome to the Airtable community!

Automations trigger even if you are not using the app. The problem is with your formula field for the view filter. The NOW() function updates more frequently when you are active in the app versus when you are not in the app. When you are not active in the app, NOW() can take an hour or more to be recalculated.

Thank you! That gives me some good direction to rework this and get it running.
