I would like to gain a better understanding of how the integration with Outlook works, specifically the aspect concerning the creation of new records upon receiving emails in the "Task" folder.

I've set up an "Integration" that generates a new Task when an email is received in the "Task" folder. The integration seems to be functioning correctly, but I'm a bit puzzled about one thing. It appears that when I move a very recent email from the Inbox to the Task folder, the integration is triggered. However, if I move an email that's a few hours old from the Inbox to the Task folder, the integration seems to ignore it.

Could someone explain the circumstances under which the integration is triggered? What specific conditions need to be met for the trigger to activate? This clarification would greatly assist me in using this feature effectively.

Thank you for your assistance and support.

Just a guess here — but perhaps it's looking to see if the email is read or unread? If it's unread, it will trigger the automation, and if it's read, it won't trigger the automation?

Also, for much more fine-tuned control over Outlook automations, you may want to explore Make's Outlook automations.

Thank you for your response.

It doesn't seem to be an issue related to the "Unread" flag.

Just now, I received two emails. I read the latest one and then moved it to the Task folder. The automation worked correctly.

I also read the first email, moved it to the Task folder, but the automation didn't work. I moved it back from Task to Inbox, changed the flag to "Unread," moved it to Task again, and it still didn't work.

I haven't tested this yet, but I'd like to check if it might be related to the Date and Time of the last email for which the automation triggered. If the last automation occurred at 12:03, it seems like any other message with a date and time prior to that when moved to the Task folder is being ignored.

That could be possible. Let us know what you discover, and in the meantime, try it with Make to see if you get better results.
