Hello,
I am trying to set up an automation that is sending out all our Purchase orders as an email via a shared distribution list.
I can link my account, but I do not have the option to choose the "send as"

Example:

me@test.com  is my account and I also have access to the procurement@test.com distribution list.

I log into my account in the "send email via gmail" automation, but after that it is linked to my private email.

I can choose the distribution list as a sender via Zapier, but I would like to cut that out.

Thanks for any help and advice

Yeah, I agree. Zapier is generally frowned upon these days, because it’s extremely underpowered and extremely overpriced. So if you’re going to use an external app, all the top Airtable consultants like myself typically recommend Make’s automations and integrations instead. I even wrote up an entire thread comparing Make vs. Zapier here.

However, if you’re going to do this within Airtable by using Airtable’s Gmail automations, this is possible but you will be limited to only 100 recipients in a single email, as mentioned in Airtable’s support article here.

Also from that same article:

Airtable’s Send Gmail action has a "From address" field which allows you to send emails from addresses other than the main one associated with your Google account. You can send using whatever name you prefer, but in order to send from another address, your Gmail account must have ownership of that address.

See these Google instructions for how to verify ownership of alternate addresses. If you try using a "From address" that you don’t own, then the "From name" field will not be respected.

p.s. If you have a budget for your project and you’d like to hire a top Airtable consultant to help you with any of this, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consultant — ScottWorld
