I am trying to create a table that is linked to a Box folder where I have hundreds of folders inside the root folder. Those folders contain other sub-folders and tens of thousands of files. (Root Folder>Folder>sub-folders/files). I don't want all the (sub)folders and files to be synched to my table, just the folders. In other words, I want all the information to live inside of box and just have a button/link to click to open the folder where the (sub)folders and files reside. There doesn't seem to be a way to just have the folders synched without it trying to synch all the (sub)folders and files. Needless to say, it quickly hits the 10,000 record limit. Howevere, all the folders I actually want to see are included within the synched table. I can create a filter to weed out the sub-folders and files, but I don't want that information just hanging around burning up records (counting towards my record limit). I hope all that makes sense. Does anyone know a way to just synch the folders and not everything else?

You might be able to do that with Make’s Box integrations. It watches for new and updated folders, and you may be able to tell it to ignore subfolders.

However, if you’ve never used Make before, there is quite a learning curve, which is why I created this basic navigation video to help. I also provide the links to a few other Make training resources there as well.

Hey @Keith_McQuait1 - how many folders are we talking about here? I think what you're trying to make is more of a dashboard/"operators" box that allows easier access to lots of folders in box. What you're trying to accomplish can be accomplished with more upfront work (copying the links for the folders in an Airtable field then creating a button field that opens said link). This isn't the most automated work but could be useful if the names of the folders don't change too much so there's not a constant need to update the relevant records in Airtable.

I would say it's about 400 folders and no the folders never really change. I have a table of fixed assets in airtable, each asset has a folder in box. Any releveant information such as inspection reports etc. gets uploaded into those folders. Yes, you are correct, I essentiaIly just want to create a button/link to open the box folder. When integrated, the folders I want do synchronize and do excatly what I want, however. it also tries to synch 9600 more items that I don't want to see. I am able to filter out everything except the folders I want, but it just seems like there should be a way to only synchronize the folders and not everything within them.

Got it. What I would propose is to create two fields, the first one will be a URL field that contains each fixed asset's folder link and the second field will be a button field that opens said link. This method requires more up front work (adding the links, which I think could be done in a week or two), but once it's set up it can be managed on a rolling basis which doesn't seem like it'll be too much work since the folders don't change often, if ever. Once done, you can hide the URL field from whichever view/interface you're using to access all of the links to the folders. LMK if this helps!
