I never need a field to be not editable. Only a few people use the base and everyone needs to access everything (it's a CRM). Having to set every single field on every single table and view and every place you ever see a field value. It's really awful.

Hm, all fields are editable (both values and field settings) by default for me.  You're saying you have to set the 'Who can edit values in this field?' field permissions for every field in your tables right now?

In the interfaces. Not in the main data table. So, if you make an interface so you can view / edit your data using the dashboards / record viewer / etc. then you have to enable each field that you want to edit.

Ah I see!  Yeah, a toggle would be nice.  You may want to make a post in the Product Ideas board instead: https://community.airtable.com/t5/product-ideas/idb-p/productideas
