This may be an issue more with our organization's strict IT rules but here is the situation:
- We have a type 2 email account that hosts all of our events on its calendar.
- When we initially started with Airtable, we used the outlook integration and was able to access that type 2 by using one of our work emails that subscribes to that type 2 calendar as the sync configuration source.
- ex. connected accounts>raethgu's outlook>events calendar
One day the sync was broken and in an attempt to re-establish the integration, a coworker updated the sync configuration source through their outlook account
- ex. connected accounts>coworker's outlook>events calendar
It looked fine until we noticed all the tasks and subtasks and comments were gone. We believe using that different source erased all the existing records and replaced them with the same records (since it was the same calendar).
Our goal is to make the integration independent of any person's outlook account but here are the caveats:
- When we try to connect directly to the type 2 email, it asks for a password which does not exist since its a type 2 email.
- Our IT department is hesitant to give us a new email account dedicated for this specific integration.
Is there some type of middleware like Zapier that could be a workaround for this issue? Thanks!

The top Airtable consultants like myself all recommend Make’s automations and integrations as the best middleware for Airtable. It is way more powerful than Zapier and significantly cheaper than Zapier.
I actually wrote a Zapier vs. Make comparison here.
Check it out and see if it works for you!
Also, since you’ve never used Make before, I’ve assembled a bunch of Make training resources in this thread.
Hope this helps! If you’d like to hire the best Airtable consultant to help you with anything Airtable-related, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consultant — ScottWorld

Possibly! You'll have to try it out and see if it works, or you can open a support ticket with the Make team to ask them directly.
