Change colors on linked records

I can’t seem to figure this out. Normally on “multiple select” or “Single select” options, changing colors is fairly easy

however with linked tables, the colors are always blue. Cannot find any options to change it

I found this support thread here, but it wasn’t answered either

When using Link to another record/Link to table option, is it possible to show the list as colored similar to how the options look in the Multiple select option?

is this a supported feature?

Just another + 1 on this…
My use case would be pretty simple.
Right now I have Notes and Contacts, and it would be great if I could pass my “note type” single select info through to contacts with its color coding such as “Meeting”, “Screening notes”, Interview feedback" so they’re easy to see at a glance. I can even pass that through currently with a formula, but it’s converted to text :confused:

So sad when I decide to change from a single/multi select to a linked record and lose colouring… Please give my workbook some colour back by giving me linked record colouring!!
