Hi all! I think adding formatting options (bulleted/numbered lists, adding links onto text) and message reactions into the messaging of the activity panel would really enhance its use and overall functionality. How does is solve the user problems? Our company utilizes the activity panel a lot to provide feedback/notes for updates/etc. With longer messages, text in this panel gets hard to consume because there's no easy way to format with more structure and separate out action items. Also, when you just need to know that someone has seen your message in the activity panel, the only way to know they've seen it is for them to respond and @ you, which can then clog up the panel with unnecessary messages. Who is the target audience? Larger collaborative businesses, where lots of conversation needs to happen on records outside of the permanent fields

Hi there, You pivot tables are not all that helpful since you can only summarize one column. I’m creating a daily habit tracker (so each column is a habit with a checkbox and the rows are the dates) and I love that it can show me the percentage checked at the bottom summary but I would like to create a pivot table to show what percentages are checked for each column each month and right now that isn’t possible. Or if you could make formulas reference across tabs instead of only being able to use columns in that tab for the formula that could accomplish it too… (and if “percent checked” was part of the formula). I found a very complicated workaround for a similar table (a “life score tracker” where I rate my day by things like productivity, mood, and health) where the column is just “type” and you select which thing you’re rating - but I was only able to make that one tolerable because I could have Zapier autopopulate a bunch of empty rows of the different categories each day and I’d prefer not to have to do that for this one, particularly since I’m 17 days into using it and because I have a limited Zapier plan (and I’m paying for Premium here so I should be able to show a pivot table where one of the options is just “all the columns except the column used except the date column” or something). Hi All, Airtable definitely needs a way to change the record picker when using linked records from a synced table(or any table for that matter) or even allow a better search mechanism when picking those records. Right now you can search your linked records but not using any criteria of the lookup fields associated with them. Example would be that I have an Employee’s Full Names associated with an Employee ID #. When using the record picker, I can only search by the employee’s ID Number, No criteria matching that employee (First Name , Last Name). I have 250 IDs on file and have to add 20-50 records at a time with data. I cant memorize every employee ID. See Below trying to search with criteria shown in the record picker window I also just learned that if you use a synced table and change the view on that synced table it also changes all the data on ALL other tables that was attached to it. Example: I have employees directory that keeps track of Employee information specifically if they are active or inactive. I have that table synced to another base that keeps track of all employee time on jobs. I have around 8000 records and over 3 years of data. When I changed to synced table view to only show active employees, all of my inactive employees employee data from another table was lost. The record existed but the employee data had vanished. Around 3000 records were gone by filtering a shared tables data.

A Twitter handle won’t launch Twitter Can’t seem to add a photo of a person Forwarded Contacts show subject as “Check out this record from the “Contacts” Table” (that could be better) Transfer a contact? That format useful to bring into other apps? probably not like a VCF) Can’t change the layout of the IOS design. I.e. the First, Last Name and Email take up too much room, can’t they be just across one line? Thanks

Short version: Why can’t airtable enforce unique entries for record IDs? This is an important feature and not having it is screwing me up. Long version: Continuing to spend most of my time working around Airtable’s billing policy. I’ve got a table where users will create work chits indicating they’ve worked x volunteer hours doing whatever. I’ve got 20 chit approvers and I really can’t afford to pay for 20 more users who will only doing approvals a few times per year. So, I’ve got a field in the Chit table that concatenates a URL which is then used to generate a link that goes in an email to the approver. When the approver clicks the link, it opens a new form for a new Approved Chit table and prefills the inputs with the values from the corresponding Chit record. I was really hoping to use the autonumber from the chit table to populate the Record ID for the Chit Approval table. My plan was to turn on unique enforcement for the Chit Approval table. But just realized that this feature doesn’t exist. My thinking was that by requiring uniqueness on the Chit Approval table, I would ensure that each chit can only generate one chit approval record. I’m not sure how to work around this one. Any suggestions mightily appreciated. But tired of spending all my energies to work around billing policies and really wishing that there was some policy based on usage rather than number of users.

You offer no offline backups and all threads are closed vendors offering paid solutions. Downloading csv files not an option. When will you have a backup solution?

I currently have a base that is used as a kind of a customer service portal for managers on duty, where they log calls and look up information that helps them respond to queries. I use the “Base Description” to record any updates I’ve added that day and remind people to check it, but it’d be very useful if you can set this or some kind of pop up reminder that shows every time someone logs in.

Something I found that would be really helpful with tracking down conditional color triggers would be to have the ability to click the color to see which condition is triggering the color. I have a large table where we have a lot of conditions that if anything is incorrect it is Red and if everything is good it is Green. Sometimes it takes a while to track down what issue is causing the Red.

I find the box a bit small for the information I need to store in Description of the field. It would be helpful if the dark grey box can be resized and even permanently resized to accommodate more text. Right now the window is quite narrow and long so that adding more text would cut the text at the bottom. See pic. PS: I know there are apps available for Airtable to add more description and wiki, but they are outside of Airtable.
