It is possible to impersonate a user while building/previewing Interfaces. Unfortunately impersonation is limited to the visibility of records, but doesn't consider the impersonee's permissions. E.g. an admin that impersonates a read-only user can still change the value of a field through an automation triggered by a button. Respecting the impersonee's permissions at least in preview mode would be very helpful for building interfaces.

What is the proposed idea/solution? Make workspace / base owner able to delete comments on records made by other users. How does is solve the user problems? As base manager (owner), I would appreciate the possibility to remove comments made by others on records without asking each person to delete their own comments. Some of them, furthermore, are not on the team anymore (no more access to base). How was this validated? It wasn't, was it? https://community.airtable.com/t5/other-questions/delete-comments-made-by-other-users/td-p/143650 Who is the target audience? Workspace / base owners.

What is the proposed idea/solution? The proposal is to abolish the fees for Interface-only commentor level. Actually, a commentor is a viewer with the possibility to comment, nothing beyond that. No edits, no creation, no management, etc. How does is solve the user problems? It would change how companies (like my agency) can communicate with their clients (specifically those who are not active on a daily basis) or external partners over e.g. the workflow, reducing e-mails or calls. Clients (free of fees) can add records to a base via forms and can read them on Interface, but there is no chance to leave a comment.

What is the proposed idea/solution? From the Admin panel, to have an option that disabled everyone that is not an admin from creating new Workspaces. How does is solve the user problems? The issue is that users in our organization create new workspaces, and this turns them into Owners automatically. Then, they are enabled to share access and provision higher licenses to other users, changing our billing. We have documented this issue internally, but our company has hundreds of users on Airtable. Employees join and leave the organization every month, meaning that it becomes unviable to rely merely on internal training. The tool needs to enable admins to protect the billing cycle. How was this validated? We see the issue every other month. Who is the target audience? Enterprise accounts

For my admin interfaces, I never need a field in an interface to be _not_ editable. Only a few people use these admin interfaces and everyone needs to access everything (it's a CRM). Having to set every single field on every single table and view and every place you ever see a field value. It's really awful. A preference setting or something that makes the whole interface editable wherever possible would be great.

Just to ensure I'm using the jargon correctly, I believe an 'Interface' is a groups of 'Pages' -- with that out of the way, I wonder if it would be relatively 'low hanging fruit' to offer the ability to move a Page to another Interface within the same Base? Why would you want to do this? The Enterprise plan has granular permissions that control which Interfaces can be accessed by which users/groups. A Page in an interface might be useful to multiple groups, but that doesn't mean I want multiple groups to have access to the entire Interface. This results in having to re-create Pages in different Interfaces that have the appropriate permission settings. A function to move a Page to a different Interface (within the same Base of course) would be a significant 'quality of life' improvement and time-saver in this situation. It could live in the page's '...' menu (see screenshot)

What is the proposed idea/solution? As it's possible to pre-fill a View Form field - it would be useful if field permissions could be set to prevent the user from editing specified (pre-filled) fields - the idea being that the field is read-only and is simply relaying information to the user who's filling out the form. Currently, if the field permissions within the table are set to "Nobody" can edit - a user viewing and filling out a form can still edit that field. How does this solve the user problems? It allows pre-filled forms to be sent and filled out by users, but only desirable fields are editable, whilst others fields are restricted from editing and will display pre-filled data that can't be edited - but can be viewed during the form process. Who is the target audience? Anyone who is using an Airtable automation to send a Form Link, with pre-filled URL switches, where some fields should really be non-editable and view only.

This feature would be useful for businesses and organizations that need to temporarily disable form submissions for maintenance, during periods of high traffic or when responses can not be accepted due to a specific workfloy/company necessity. Here's how this feature might work: First, the user would need to create a new form or select an existing form within Airtable. Then, they could choose to enable the form scheduling feature for that form. Next, the user would be able to specify the start and end dates and times during which the form should be disabled. The user would also have the option to add a custom message that would be displayed to users who try to access the form during the disabled period. For example, the message might say "We apologize for the inconvenience, but this form is temporarily unavailable. Please check back after [end date and time]." After the disabled period has ended, the form would automatically become active again and users would be able to access and submit it as usual. This feature would be especially useful for businesses and organizations that need to periodically disable form submissions for maintenance or during busy periods, such as holiday sales or seasonal promotions. By giving users more control over when and how forms are displayed, Airtable would help ensure a smoother and more efficient workflow.

I manage one base with two interfaces for my company. One is the Team interface everyone has access to and the other is a Management interface where only management has access to. The Team interface undergoes the most evolution and it's nearly impossible for me to keep open record panels consistent across both interfaces. Frankly, I find it ridiculous you can't copy open record panels from another interface that shares the same base but that's another point entirely. Ideally, I would like consolidate both interfaces into the Team interface and the Management pages have a password protection feature that prompts you to fill in a password (one singular password specified in the interface editor - no need for separate user passwords) before permitting access to the page. The current system makes it difficult to scale and retain consistency across multiple interfaces and I feel like this would be a simple solution with a big impact on permissions.

This thread made me realize that we should probably have an option to PREVENT collaborators (particularly read-only collaborators) from being able to easily duplicate an entire base. When we share read-only links to bases or views, we have that option that we can uncheck that says: “Allow viewers to copy the data in this base” or “Allow viewers to copy data out of this view”. But it would be nice if we had that same feature for collaborators.
