Recommendation : Terms Searched on the app should have a history. So that user can go back and forward with their searched term.

Search functionality should show the result with sorted cells not just highlight the cells with information. Just like filter. thank you. Jay

It would be great if the Search Block would let us search for entire phrases in our database, instead of breaking up the phrase into individual words. For example, if we wanted to search for this phrase: “cat on a hot tin roof” Airtable’s Search Block would return ALL the records that have ANY of those words: cat on a hot tin roof But we only want to return the records that have the ENTIRE phrase. This is typically done in other database languages by putting quotation marks around the phrase. But using quotation marks in the Search Block doesn’t change its behavior. Interestingly enough, using the “Find in View” feature on the grid view actually DOES respect entire phrases, but that just highlights all the matching phrases within your view, so you have to scroll up & down through all of your records to see your matching results. This would be very difficult to do with thousands of records. Thanks! 🙂

The search block allows searching only in Latin languages. Why not enable more languages?
While you’re at it. Allow determining if the base is LTR or RTL, in the settings.

Because this is so simple to include, we are not sure if this is a bug or just a very surprising oversight. When you click on the search button within a table, you can search for any data, in any field, in any record, instantly. When you click on the search button within the base/main view, it only appears to search the titles of the bases and doesn’t include the search results that you would see when searching in the table view. From our limited coding experience, this would likely take a couple of hours fix as all that would need to be done is, when a user uses the base view search, just also search each of the users tables (as is done in the table view search) and include those results alongside the standard base name results. This is a common feature in almost every other similar online service and so has become an expected, mandatory requirement from any user. We have found several alternatives that do the same thing or very similar to Airtable but their universal search also includes all records as expected. We would like to test out Airtable before considering promoting it to our sizeable audiences. This would result in substantial additional revenue for Airtable at any conversion rate. Not sure how long something so simple like this would take to fix but we would really appreciate any time scales as that will allow us to plan when determining whether to promote Airtable or one of the alternatives that already has the universal search that all users expect. Thank you.
