Create a toggle button for multi and single select fields to not allow new select options to be added by an Editor that creates records. We would like to allow Editors the ability to add records but not add rogue field options, which is hurting our data that we want to track. We do not want to grant them any higher access to be a Collaborator. Current state, we are spending a lot of time to continually re-train the users to not add in rogue select options. This toggle button option should carry through the CSV Import Extension so no button appears for users to try and add in missing options.

Hi everyone, Pello here from Moonland. As an Airtable Gold Partner, we’ve had the chance to build some pretty sophisticated tools in Airtable, like full ERPs and other complex systems. While we’ve been able to do a lot, there’s one feature that’s still missing that I think could help us build the perfect app: conditional pop-ups. What is the proposed idea/solution? The idea is to introduce a feature in Airtable that allows users to create and trigger conditional pop-ups when a button is clicked. These pop-ups could be customized to display warning messages, confirmation prompts, or any other relevant information before proceeding with an automation or action. How does it solve the user problems? This feature would enhance user experience by adding an extra layer of interactivity and control within Airtable. It helps prevent unintended actions by allowing users to confirm or review their choices before triggering potentially irreversible automations. This can be especially valuable in complex workflows where a simple mistake could lead to significant issues, such as data loss or incorrect processing. How was this validated? The need for this feature has been observed in various user scenarios where preventing accidental triggers is critical. Many users currently have to create complex workarounds or additional fields to mimic this functionality, which can lead to confusion and inefficiency. By implementing native pop-up functionality, Airtable can streamline these processes and reduce the need for such workarounds. Who is the target audience? This feature would benefit a wide range of Airtable users, particularly those managing complex workflows, such as project managers, product developers, and anyone using Airtable for tasks that involve critical or sensitive actions. It’s especially useful for industries like software development, inventory management, and any scenario where automated actions need to be carefully controlled. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this idea. We’re always looking for ways to improve the tools we create, and your feedback could really help. Thanks for reading this post! Pello

We are a labor marketplace. When we're trying to match job seekers with job providers, our operations team uses script extensions to create a new table for each match and track the status of various job seekers. The script assigns each possible match a "rating" based on a number of fields in the table. I'd like to a) Be able to sort the default view based on this rating b) Automatically create a new Kanban view that they can use to track the lifecycle of the potential matches for this job

What is the proposed idea/solution? I suggest introducing a test/production environment feature in Airtable that applies to the data automations and interface sections of a base. This would allow users to create and test changes within a "test" version of a base, including data modifications and interface updates etc.. without impacting the live production environment. Once the changes have been fully tested and validated, users could publish these changes to the production environment, ensuring that the live base remains stable and unaffected during the testing phase. How does is solve the user problems? Comprehensive Risk Mitigation: It provides a safe environment for users to experiment with data, automations and interface changes, minimizing the risk of disrupting the live base. Increased Confidence in Updates: Users can test new workflows, interface layouts, formulas, scripts, and automations comprehensively in isolation, ensuring everything works correctly before pushing changes live. Streamlined Workflow: This would eliminate the need for cumbersome workarounds, such as duplicating bases for testing, and reduce confusion caused by multiple versions. It would also allow for seamless transitions from testing to production, improving overall efficiency. Who is the target audience? Power Users: Those who use Airtable for complex projects and need to test changes before going live. Teams and Organizations: Groups relying on Airtable for collaboration, requiring safe testing environments to avoid disruptions. Developers and Technical Users: Those building custom scripts or integrations who need a sandbox for experimentation. Project Managers: Responsible for maintaining base integrity, ensuring changes are vetted before deployment. Consultants: Professionals managing Airtable for clients, needing to demo changes safely before applying them to live bases Thank you Team Airtable !

Feature request... with interfaces allowing to filter by current user there are some users you want to always allow weather they are linked to that record or not. Would be nice to be able to add and additional filter that said if "current user" is any of...and they you could select users that always have visibility

What is the proposed idea/solution? would love to be able to utilize groups in a great capacity then permissions. It would be beneficial to be able to assign a group a task in the user column or tag a specific group in the comments. How does is solve the user problems? would prevent having to tag or add multiple users if they are all in a specific group

Security, sustainability, traceability and file management headaches would be significantly reduced if a file existed in one place, under a single corporate entity, with a single set of permissions and shared across SAAS integrations. It would be awesome if a file in Box could be published into an Airtable attachment field in an airtable record without copying it into the Airtable tenant and consuming storage. If a Box link were dragged into an Airtable attachment field and dropped, could Airtable interrogate the file permissions in Box to see if it is allowed? If so, present the thumbnail provided by Box as a preview. Click on the link, and it provides the Box preview as it does today and download capability. If the user's Box login could authenticate download, that would be amazing. Allowing the API to establish the link would be essential. Sustainability +++ Security +++ Ease of use +++

CSV downloads are available for the ‘List’ type of interface but not on lists within the dashboard type. It would be great to allow csv downloads from a list contained on dashboards.

What is the proposed idea/solution? The proposed idea is to allow users to upload a custom image to use as the icon for their Airtable bases. Currently, bases are represented by a generic icon, but with this feature, users could personalize their base icons with an image that is meaningful to their project or team. This would add a visual touch to the base navigation and make it easier for users to quickly identify specific bases. How does is solve the user problems? This feature would solve several user problems: Visual organization: With custom icons, users can visually differentiate between multiple bases, making it easier to navigate and find the base they need. Personalization: Users can choose an image that resonates with their project or team, making the Airtable experience more engaging and personalized. Branding: For companies or teams using Airtable, custom icons can help reinforce their brand identity within the platform. Reduced cognitive load: By providing a visual cue, custom icons can help reduce the cognitive load associated with navigating multiple bases, making it easier for users to focus on their work. How was this validated? While I don't have specific data or user research to cite, here are some possible ways to validate this idea: User feedback: Review Airtable's user forums, social media, or support requests to see if users have requested this feature or expressed frustration with the current generic icons. Competitor analysis: Research other project management or collaboration tools that offer custom icon features and assess their user adoption and satisfaction. User testing: Conduct usability testing or surveys to gauge user interest in custom icons and gather feedback on how they would use this feature. Internal feedback: Discuss the idea with Airtable's internal teams, such as sales, marketing, or customer success, to gather their input and insights on the potential value of this feature. Who is the target audience? Airtable user
