I wanted to share a free little browser extension I built to solve a personal workflow issue, and I thought it might be helpful for others here too!
The tool lets you save and quickly access several of your most used forms, and quickly fill those out directly from your browser's side panel. It saves time by removing the need to switch tabs, you can keep forms handy while working on something else. It works with Airtable forms and other form platforms like Fillout, Typeform, Jotform, etc.
My use case was to quickly create tasks into Airtable from data in my email. I also shared it with a client of mine who wanted the ability to create contacts and tasks into Airtable, from their CRM tool. This doesn't access their CRM, but allows quick data entry on the same tab as the CRM.
Features:
- Save and organize form links in a simple UI. All data (Form name and URL) is saved locally. No backend server is set up at my end. And it doesn't see what you're filling.
- Open forms directly in a side panel without leaving your current tab. You can switch tabs in Chrome with the form open.
- Quick and easy workflow for things like taking notes, saving tasks, or inputting data.
Note that it opens the forms in an iframe, so while jotform and fillout are easy to set up, for Airtable forms, you might need to use the embed url (not the whole embed code), instead of the form share url.
It's not super polished (just something I put together to make my life easier), but I figured it might help the community here as well! Let me know if you'd like to check it out or if you have ideas for improvements.
