I just sent this in as a product idea but I wanted to see if it’s a pain-point for anyone else?

I love the layout flexibility of the Blank interface template for building a dashboard but it’s missing a bunch of newer functionality because it’s a legacy template.

The newer Dashboard template has some of that newer functionality (hierarchy, click into number elements), but doesn’t allow me to have elements side by side unless they have the same source table (group)

There’s also no way to make what is functionally a sidebar element (one that spans vertically over multiple elements).

Neither have Sort/Group/Search User Actions for List/Grid elements (like in the Record Review template) which I get for Blank but not for Dashboard, because Filter is an option but not the others.

Without these user actions, I’m forced to make my user click a button at the top of the group that goes to a list or grid page with the same source so they can do what they should be able to do in the dashboard element. This also adds a page to the interface menu for each time I have to use this work-around.

An updated Blank interface template that retained the flexibility of the original but took advantage of all the newer features would solve the issues I’m having with the existing options for Dashboard creation.
