1 email for records with same email address

Hello. Very very new to airtable, so need a bit of help getting set up.

We’re creating a database.
We have a member database with an email field called “I was referred by” to track who is referring who.

How can we create a count so that we can see a referral leaderboard?

I’ve been playing with linked fields but getting confused.
