Cross-reference by date range in another table

Is it possible to reference a specific Field in a Table from another Table in the same database not just the Name of the records but a specific field with in it.

Such as currently only the first field shows up when you used a linked record. Is there a way to say pick a record and display a field from that record OTHER then the first field?

Sure! What you want is a lookup field.
