I run a judo club and use Airtable to all store all membership information. Currently, taking the register can be a bit of an ordeal so I am looking to automate the process by letting members “check in” when they enter the club.
We have a REGISTER table which pulls in active members from the MEMBERS table. Each class is a separate column (e.g. Tue 21/09) which gets checked if the student is present.
The goal is to have an iPad at the entrance to the club where students can “check in” by searching for their name on a web app. This would then update the relevant record in the REGISTER table.
I’d also be keen to explore issuing membership cards which the students scan to check in, but this is not MVP.
