Webinars

Happy Friday Community!

Here at Airtable, we are always looking for new ways to unblock people, and help them find the answers they need to build to their heart’s content. With that in mind, we are happy to announce the release of a new Community category named: Featured Resources.

The Featured Resources category contains collections of resources created by both Community users and Airtable. We believe this will help to organize and present answers to common questions, provide use case examples, and showcase awesome workflows. We have launched this category with a starting set of collections, but we will continually add to these existing collections, and soon plan to create new collections dedicated to other Airtable features.

Each collection of featured resources is correlated to a specific product feature area for easy perusal. If you’d like to nominate a Community Post to an existing feature collection, or to one we don’t have yet, please submit it here!

Thank you for creating and curating these lists of resources.

Could I offer a few thoughts?

  • Include the date of the community post in the table. As Airtable adds features, sometimes fantastic workflows and systems become obsolete. Having a date up front quietly lets users know how old the post is right away. (Do you have a plan for dealing with obsolete posts?)

  • It looks like you have only one section for all of the APIs. The link in the first paragraph of the page goes to the support page for the Public REST API. I recommend that you link to the developer documentation page, either instead of or in addition to the link for the support page.

  • Many people looking for help with scripts will not think to look under the heading “APIs”.

  • These groupings have a lot of overlap with the existing categories in the community forum. How about including links these pages in the pinned topic at the top of each forum category or otherwise joining them.

I have a few other thoughts, but I think this is enough for now.

Hi @Rose_K,

None of the “Open URL” buttons in the featured resources are currently working for me. I’m assuming that Rebrandly must be having some sort of an outage right now, but I thought you should know anyways, in case it’s some other problem! :slightly_smiling_face:

@ScottWorld
Hmmm—I just checked the Rebrandly status and it doesn’t look like they haven’t had any significant outages today. Could you point me to the collection you tried where the “Open URL” buttons weren’t working (or if it is was just all of them that helps to know too)? I can dig in further, and make sure everything is set up on both sides :slightly_smiling_face:

It was all of the links in all of the collections! But now they’re all working again! :slightly_smiling_face: It must have been a temporary outage at Rebrandly (although it’s not listed on their site).

@kuovonne - first of all thank you so much for the feedback, I appreciate it immensely. :star:

I’ll address your points, in the order you provided them:

  1. As we expand on the individual feature collections our plan is to continually curate each collection to make sure it contains the most up-to-date info—or point to where the most up to date information can be found as new features are released. I think including dates is a great idea!
  2. Eventually as we collect more resources I would love to separate our resources on using our internal API and integrating external APIs. I think you raise a good point and I’ll change the link for the current API collection to a more generalized resource to reflect the collection as it is now.
  3. I’ll update that messaging so folks can get a better idea of the resources contained in there.
  4. I will look into this! I think that’s a great idea, and I’ll see is it is possible within our current structure.

Thank you @kuovonne , I just was looking for ressources about scripts and was not thinking to look under the heading “APIs”
