allow CSV Import access without base editing

I'm managing Airtable for a large team of 60 people. We've designed a variety of interfaces for their needs, with the goal of preventing them from going into the base and tampering things.

However, we still want them to use the CSV Import extension, which unfortunately only exists with Base-Editor access. 

Does anyone have suggestions for importing CSVs (either with a script, integration, or anything) with just Interface access?

Yes, that is very easy to do with Make’s CSV integrations and automations.

I give a full demonstration of how to do this on this Airtable podcast episode.

That podcast episode shows how to do it if your users upload the CSV file to a cloud drive storage space.

However, another more complicated way of doing this would be to have your users upload the CSV file to Airtable using an Airtable form or a Fillout form.

In that case, you would instantly trigger a Make automation (click that link for instructions on how to do this) after the form is submitted to extract the CSV file and import it into Airtable. You would need to extract the CSV using Make’s HTTP Get a File module.
