Hi Airtable Community - I am fairly new to Airtable.  A couple of months developing. Have a few questions below.  Many thanks in advance for any guidance provided.

Q1: Need to merge two bases - what is the way to go?  The chatbot mentioned scripts to bring data over and sharing the tables from one base to another.  I would like to merge the two into one Master one and not lose existing comments in any records, any history or scripting/automation in either.  Is there a way to do this?

Q2: How do I see/query the backend table structure in Airtable via  SQL? Is that possible? is there a tool out there that can help with that?

Q3: Any companies that offer Airtable development that I can chat with - looking for rapid development so need more Airtable engineers?

Hey @Mmendoza

Welcome to the Airtable community! Please find below my responses to your questions:

Q1: Unfortunately, comments and automation history can't be transferred to the new master base. What you can do is sync tables from one base to another or upload data to the masted base through csv.
If comments in records are very important to you, then you can get and transfer them to the new master base through API (source here).

Q2: I don't know for a solution like this, and to be honest, I don't think you need it. If you need to access your data programmatically, you can use Airtable's API.

Q3: I am an Airtable consultant, and what I do is co-building sessions with teams showing and explaining how to build their own stuff. We build your system together live so you know how it is built and how you can make improvements later by yourself. So, the final deliverable can be delivered in a few hours during the upcoming week. Here is my calendar link; please feel free to schedule a time with no commitment to talk about your project needs.
 📅 Solve it 30 minutes

Thanks

Try syncing your tables over and then removing the sync, that'll at least help you with the field creation and data migratin.  Unfortunately you're going to lose your formulas, lookups, rollups, etc, as those'll just sync over as text fields and you'll need to re-set those up

Scripting/automation history's going to be lost I'm afraid, you can't transfer that over at this point

For comments, you could use the API to grab the existing comments and then create them in the new base for their respective record?  I think this might end up sending one email per created comment though, so may want to test this before doing it for all comments

Hmm, does the Base Schema extension help?  https://airtable.com/marketplace/blkhDEgsVSaRQawmk/base-schema

Ha yeap, me!  I'm pretty active on the forums so you can get a grasp of how I work from my activity here as well as some reviews, and I've got a bunch of example projects that you can find here!

If you think I could help, here's a link to schedule a free half hour call to see if we're a good fit

I'd also recommend posting in the job board too! https://community.airtable.com/t5/job-board/bd-p/jobs
