Hello! I just wrote a quick snippet to turn records and linked records into labels, but I ran into the nasty surprise that the scripting block doesn’t allow HTML formatting. I can’t really do this in markdown due to the flexibility constraints of the labels I print on.

Is there any way to either
a) make the Scripting block render HTML or
b) easily convert a script to a custom app?

Thank you!

Hi @mdmtr, and welcome to the community!

a) No.
b) Easily, no. Doable, yes.

You might benefit from sharing with the community your goal in this scripting project. You mention printing labels and I’m pretty sure there are ways to send document content to a printer without actually rendering it. As such, I must ask -

Why bother with rendering it if you need only print it?

@mdmtr - I would be interested in this script to turn records and linked records into HTML or markdown. I am new to scripting and looking to copy and paste and want something similar. Would you be happy to share it?

Absolutely! If, of course, “it” existed. It doesn’t exist but “it” is certainly possible. The place to begin is a clear picture of what “it” is.
