Field is hidden when adding through the API

Hi!

following the public api of Airtable, I tried to create a new field to an existing table of an existing base. 
It all goes as expected though the new field that I create is hidden. 
I wonder if there’s a flag I need to send in the api to have the new created field not hidden, or to show fields through another api calls?

I'm pretty curious about this too.  I feel like newly created fields show up automatically on views where no fields are hidden at all, but if a view has even a single hidden field, any newly created fields in that table will be hidden in that view?

I think Airtable API is missing many features we may need. Like deleting column, setting its visibility, sort by, group by, filter...

Or I may be using Airtable not the way they inteded.
