Managing Separator Lines in the Form Builder

The form builder allows the creation of groups of fields which are separated by a horizontal rule on the form.

Is there a way to control visibility of the entire group, including the horizontal rule, rather than controlling visibility of individual fields within the group?

Assuming the answer is no, is there a way to disable the extraneous horizontal rule when none of the fields in the group are visible?

Were you able to solve this issue? I am having the same problem

I was unable to solve the problem. I combined the optional fields into one group. At least one item in the group is visible, so that resolved the issue.
