Need help with project management base; multiple projects, multiple phases

We are an architecture firm wanting to track multiple projects each with multiple phases so that we can project and manage resources. I know that there are many project management templates available; multiple projects with the multiple phases with begin and end dates for each is out of my reach. Would like to discuss if this is doable, then if it is worth it.
