I am entering Facebook Ad information into an Airtable so I can categorize ads more specifically than Facebook gives me control to do. One of the fields I enter into my Airtable is the Facebook Ad ID; this ID is 17 digits long. When I copy/past over the number or even try to manually change the value, it still changes the last digit back to zero. For example, one of my Ad IDs is 23843310506440191, however, Airtable is changing it to 23843310506440190.

  • If I change the last digit to 1, 2, 3 or 4 it automatically changes the last digit to 0.
  • If I change the last digit to 5, 6 or 7, it changes the last digit to 6.
  • If I change the last digit to 8, 9 it change the last three digits to 200.

It’s obviously some sort of automatic rounding, but I can’t seem to figure it out. I’ve been fighting with it for hours, help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.

Just because the ID is a number doesn’t mean that it must be stored in a number field. I suggest using a single line text field instead, which should eliminate the tweaking of the number.
