Adding Current Date to Page Design Block

I need to add the current date to a Page Design block, but I would prefer not to have to add a new column to my table. Is there a way to add the date to a Text field? I tried some variations of NOW() and TODAY() both within and without {}, but no luck.

If you’d like the field to be dynamic you’ll need to have it linked to a record. It’s always possible to hide fields that you don’t want to see, I am familiar with the desire to not create too many single use fields.
