Based on Calendar view of birthdays - #27 by Katherine_Duh, I thought I could use a formula for a calendar view.

However, it seems like we cannot- which is the case?

The use case here is that we have an imported spreadsheet of dates text string format and a user who prefers to see them that way (?).

I am happy to manually redo them for now and reversing the formula, but before diving in, want to make sure that’s necessary.

You can. The view will warn you that Because {Field Name} is a computed field, you will not be able to drag records between dates. but it will not stop you from using/displaying records using a formula or the Created Time type field

Thank you so much @Kamille_Parks ! Do you have a working example of this? I can’t get it to work.

What issue precisely are you running in to? If your calendar views aren’t letting you select a formula field, that means the format of that formula is probably not a date.
