Hi there!

I work for a nonprofit that sends frozen meals to families with children with cancer in British Columbia.

We've leveraged Airtable to run our inventory and order management, but we've gotten some feedback that families are having a hard time with seeing the dietary restrictions for a specific item on our order form.

The order form is set up so that it pulls products from a specific view that categorizes the product into a main, side, etc.

Does anyone know of any way to make it so that the families could see the whole text?

A workaround is that when they actually add the product it shows all of the information - if they saw something concerning and wanted to remove the product they would just have to remove it and then add another, but this is counter-intuitive and confusing to many people.

You can see a video of the cut off text at the following link:

This view is on a desktop, but most of our families order on their phones so it's even worse.

Thanks for any insights or help!

Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do about that behavior in Airtable, so I would definitely send that as a feature request to support@airtable.com.

However, in the meantime, for a quick solution to your problem, I would highly recommend using Fillout's Advanced Forms for Airtable.

Not only does Fillout do everything that you want it to do, but also Fillout is 100% free and it offers hundreds of features that Airtable’s native forms don’t offer, including the ability to update Airtable records from a form, display Airtable lookup fields & Airtable rollup fields & Airtable attachments & formulas on forms, dynamically & conditionally filter linked record fields by any values that you would like, perform math or other live calculations on your forms, accept payments on forms, create multi-page forms with conditional paths, create new linked records on a form, display as many fields as you want to see in a linked record selection list (including attachments), connect a single form to dozens of external apps simultaneously, limit the number of linked records that can be chosen, set advanced field validations & limitations, upload an unlimited amount of attachments simultaneously, add CAPTCHAs to your form, add choice matrixes to your forms, direct integration with hundreds of apps like Calendly & Google Maps on your forms, and so much more.

Hope this helps! If you’d like to hire an expert Airtable consultant to help you with anything Airtable-related, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consultant — ScottWorld

Hi there!

At miniExtensions, we've created a third-party form that integrates seamlessly with Airtable, giving you full control over how linked record fields are displayed, as well as the form’s width. In the example below, I’ve chosen a fullscreen layout while previewing three fields: a name field, an attachment field, and a lookup field containing a long URL.
