I have a table “Masters” with fields;
Code
Name
Attribute1
Attribute2

I want to allow others to be able to update only Attribute 1 & Attribute 2 fields. From what I understand, I cannot do that. Please confirm or help out with a solution.

Hi @Ruchika_Abbi,

The easiest way to accomplish this, would be to create a new sheet with those fields linked and lock every other sheet down. Of course, this will only work if you’re on the Pro plan.

If you’re on the free version, and you trust your clerks to only update what you instruct them to, another option would be to create a view with only the fields that they are are required to update.

Hi Nathalie,

Thanks for your reply!

I do have the Pro plan. I’ve tried both, adding views / linked fields. However both don’t work.

Adding views & Hiding fields:
I still need to show Code & Name fields so that users can add other fields accordingly. There is no way for me to set Code & Name fields as readonly.

Linked Fields
While creating a new table with Code & Name fields as linked will allow me to keep them un editable, the problem becomes keeping the 2 tables in sync.

Thanks,
Ruchika
