First ever question for the community! I have a table with a single select column that contains the names of different documents and articles used while conducting secondary research.

I would like to create a new table that adds each unique document to a single row.

Suggestions?

Does that column need to be a single-select, or could it be a “Link to another Record” field? That type of field works exactly as you describe:

  • Users can select from the list of records in the other table, or
  • They can create a new row of the other table and link that instead
