Hi Community,

I'm trying to purchase a Teams account but I am part of an entity that is not allowed to pay taxes. The form I'm sent to has a space for a credit card and says I'll be charged "applicable taxes". I'm not actually sure what happens when I hit 'submit' after entering a credit card, is it charged then or is there some other page I get sent to? I expect the former.

Is there a way to pay for Airtable without paying taxes?

The problem is solved in that I paid for airtable without paying taxes, but I'm not sure why it worked.

You can navigate to ACCOUNT (upper right) then WORKSPACE SETTINGS (left side of screen). On the right side of that page is a link to INVOICE DETAILS. There you can add a "Tax code (VAT / GST / NFP...)". I entered our tax code for our location, but it is a free form answer, so it wasn't clear if it would work. The I went to the upgrade my workspace page and I paid using a credit card. You do not see any taxes you might pay before your card is charged. After your card is charged you receive and invoice. My invoice says that I was not charged tax for my location and in the upper left contains the same free form entry I supplied in the "Tax code (VAT / GST / NFP...)" box. It seems like you could put whatever you want in the "Tax code (VAT / GST / NFP...)" box and not pay taxes until someone objects.

Hi @nadnerbity,

I cannot say where you reside or how it works with Airtable in your host country. But for Airtable and a lot of online third party apps, in my experience, I am billed in the USD without taxes (I reside in Canada). I would be surprised if you were charged taxes as I know in Canada, Australia & New Zealand, Airtable does not charge tax to the invoice amount.

Hi @Valentino_Escal,

Thanks for the response! My follow up question is, when I am on the upgrade page and enter a credit card number, and hit the upgrade button, does it charge my card then and there, or does it take me to another screen?

On the one hand, it seems weird to me to have my card charged for an unknown amount of taxes. But on the other hand it does seem like it will be charged for $1,400 + ???? in taxes.
