In Filemaker I was able to set my field names to list alphabetically or in creation order or in custom order.

Is there a way for me to have my field names list alphabetically?

Welcome to the community, @Jenny_Arntzen!

You can sort the fields in alphabetical order by clicking on “Manage Fields” in the toolbar.

Unfortunately, you can not sort the fields in creation order nor a custom order.

As far as I know, I am the world’s only expert at both FileMaker and Airtable. You can learn more about me at my Airtable Consulting website:

Hi Scottworld! Nice to meet a Filemaker + Airtabler!

When I look at Manage Fields I cannot see a button to click for sorting alphabetical - am I missing something? Or am I supposed to do it manually?

Thanks!

Click on the column header.

I tried that - I am using the online app - the desktop app scrolling was too annoying. I wonder if it isn’t working in the online version?

Oh! I see - the fields sort alphabetically automatically in Manage Fields :slightly_smiling_face:

Maybe that’s the default, but they actually sort based on whichever column header you click on, and you can choose to sort ascending or descending for each column.
