Hello, I have a Airtable Table that sorts different records by release date. I want to be able to manually re-order the different records that have the same release date (as many of them do) but for some reason I can't figure out how to do that? I've tried to turn off automatic sorting and then manually re-arrange my records but as soon as I turn automatic sorting back on, it overwrites my changes. Anybody got a fix or insight for this?

To manually re-order records that have the same release date in Airtable while maintaining the automatic sorting for other records, you can use the following approach:

Create an additional field: Add a new field called something like "Order" or "Sort Priority." This can be a number or text field.

Manually set the order: For records with the same release date, assign a unique value in this "Order" field based on the order you want them to appear.

Adjust your sorting: Modify your existing sort criteria to first sort by the release date, and then by the "Order" field.

This method allows you to manually control the order of records that share the same release date while keeping automatic sorting for other records intact.

Another hacky solution would be to simply turn on time for your date field and then assign records minutes to maintain your ordering.

The Kanban Interface view also allows you to create a sort order via drag and drop too: https://community.airtable.com/t5/interface-designer/manual-sort-of-cards-in-kanban-element-in-an-in...

If you're just using this visually it should be fine, but note the caveat for this sort order from this thread:
