Hi There! I'm currently using Airtable as a mini database for my designs without images. I'm a novice Airtable user and am using it a glorified spreadsheet, but I know it can do so much more!

I would like to add all the images of my designs to Airtable, sort the images (drag and drop, if possible) into collections (without losing their associated data), and then, export them into visual templates.

I'm a surface pattern designer. My templates of each collection show each pattern with some general information like title and SKU along with the title of the collection, and how to contact me.

I don't mind exploring help articles, but I'm not even sure if what I want to do is possible or where I would begin. Any support or suggestions are welcome. I'm currently using a free version of Airtable and am aware that this might require an upgrade due to both storage and functionality.

Hey @FontandFlaura,

Please use interfaces feature from airtable. This is gonna improve your daily life a lot. You can build exactly what you shown on the image on a gallery view in interfaces. It is similar with the gallery view on data side. The difference is that using interfaces you can build your own app UI UX.

Happy to help you more on this.

Thanks

It's hard to picture exactly what you mean by drag-and-dropping designs into collections, and how you envision exporting visual templates. Is your image a single design? Or do you want to drag-and-drop within the image?

I'm guessing that each design would be a record in Airtable. Collections could be a single-select field, a multi-select field, or a linked record field. I would lean towards a linked record field such that records in a [Designs] table would link to records in a [Collections] table. However that may be more complex than you are ready to implement.

I suggest starting with the official Airtable Academy to learn about what can be done in Airtable.
