That’s a good idea to have a screen that is completely view-only until you hit an edit button.

Until Airtable implements this, there are at least 2 great workarounds for this behavior:

1. The 1st workaround uses the conditional hiding feature of Airtable’s interfaces, and is demonstrated by @Kamille_Parks on this Airtable podcast episode.

2. The 2nd workaround is where you keep all of your fields in your interface as view-only, and then you give a button that takes the user to that record in Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable. Fillout is 100% free and it gives you hundreds of advanced form features for Airtable, such as the ability to edit Airtable records from a form.
