This would be a very useful feature to prevent people from accidentally entering dates that have already passed, or to restrict to a certain period of time (e.g. no more than two weeks ahead).
Additionally if you have a form with several date fields, you could have conditional restrictions on what date could be entered based on a previous date entered (e.g. a finish date would always have to be after a start date).
