In Excel I often create formulas that reference a random item from another table. I can’t figure out how to do this in Airtable.
The general way I do this in Excel is:
create an autofill column (called “Index_lookup”) that has the formula =RANDBETWEE...
I’ve noticed a severe performance degradation over the last two days, so bad that it’s making the web based product nearly unusable. I am getting “reconnecting” messages.
Initially, using TONOW() seems like a compact way of calculating time offset from today. But if I create a column that uses TONOW it’s output is in the form of, “5 days”, “15 days”, “1 month”, “2 months”, and etc. That reads well BUT it doesn’t sort ...
Currently, when I attempt to click on a checkbox in a Gallery view, the record view opens up. I’d much rather be able to directly check/uncheck the checkbox from the Gallery view.
One more specific example:
I want to only display linked items that have a particular property set on them.
In the embedded base, in the “Tags” table, in the “Products” column, I want to only show those Products that have a “Available” checkbox set...
Ugh. that’s a really gross “solution” and doesn’t automatically update as the “other table” changes over time. This is so easy in Excel.

this is a cleanup I will do more than onceyour suggestion is also, in its own ways, error prone
