I’m considering creating a Wordpress site that would on some pages embed the iframe of an Airtable view, using the embed code that Airtable produces. I’ve testing the embedding and it’s slick–and fast. Love it.
But I know that, at least in the past, Google’s ranking algorithms might penalize a site that has iframes in it. I know it may or may not index what is in the iframe, but that’s not really a concern for me. I just don’t want the site being penalized.
Is there anyone here that knows much about SEO and the effect of iframes?

Not entirely true, but close. Better phrased …
Google’s ranking algorithms might penalize a site that has [predominantly] iframes in it.
Google’s search rankings are rarely understood because - on average - the algorithms change 1 to 60 times every 24 hours. No human can keep up with what is ostensibly a constantly shifting model for rank determination. And anyone who claims otherwise is probably uninformed.
Machines are responsible for harvesting and digesting content; if they can’t really see the content (as is the case with iFrames, they can’t use it to assist your rankings.
