The Excel file importer is now live for all Airtable users! :raised_hands:t3:

You can use this feature to create a brand new base, or, add all worksheets within an Excel file as new tables in an existing base.

import1

A couple highlights are:

  • Every sheet in the Excel workbook will be imported as a table.
  • Field types are automatically detected from the cell types. This works for dates, checkboxes, multi-selects, multi-line text, rich text, numbers, currencies, and percents!

More information about the Excel file importer can be found in our support center article.

Let us know if you have any questions about this new functionality.

Hi, @Audrey_Harrison! I don’t have access to this function. Please advise. When I click to import from Excel, it only accepts a .CSV.Screen Shot 2020-11-12 at 10.38.04 AM

Hey there! :wave:t2: Can you check again? You should see it now…

Let me know if you run into any more issues with it.

Hi, @Audrey_Harrison! Is possible to use the excel upload feature to create records in a current sheet vs. having the excel upload create a new sheet?

May I ask if there’s an excel file exporter, to export all the tables in the base instead of one by one? Thanks!

Very cool, it even correctly handles decimal notation with commas! That’s causing some headaches for me with CSV import.
