Hello to all my colleagues,

The query I have I think is kind of stupid, because it should work as I am configuring a button in an interface, so that when it is clicked, it triggers an action that in my case is to run a script. I am following the instructions posted at:
https://support.airtable.com/docs/when-a-button-is-clicked

I am blocked at this point "Connect the automation to an interface".

The problem I have is that I can't select the action to follow when someone clicks on the button, because the option "Run automation" does not appear within the options to select. Only the following ones appear:

- Open record creation
- Go to interface page
- Go to external URL

It is supposed to appear within those options "Run automation", and after selecting it, link it with the automation process that I have created.

I don't really know what could be going on, so I would be grateful if you could help me, I would appreciate it very much.

Thank you very much for your help.
Luis

I believe that automations can only be run on buttons in certain interface types (I think record summary/picker but try out your preferred interface first because I am not 100% sure). If you want to use buttons on a different type interface, what I did was create a blank interface and add a button element that is connected to a "dummy" record picker, and then you can also have a list element in the interface

Thanks for your Reply TorinNayak,

I did what you suggesting to me and worked. Please, could you tell me if you finished the automation process the way you told me, that is, keeping the blank interface with the button element connected to a "dummy" record picker?

Did you have no problems afterwards? Could you share with me that interface so I can see how it looks like?

I'll appreciate a lot of your help.

Thanks a lot
Luis
