I think this may be a bug, but searching didn't reveal anything.
When I have an existing description for an automation and want to edit it, the description field clears out, necessitating starting over again. Screenshots:
That screenshot shows there is a description on this automation. Below you can see what happens when I click "Edit Description."
Why it matters: It's very hard to view the complete automation title. We have many automations that do various versions of the same thing, so the description is very important.
You can't select and highlight the description, so you basically have to start over when editing. The "Edit description" field also seems to be a single line text field, so it's almost impossible to see the full thing.
Duplicating automations is extremely helpful, but if you can't easily edit the description, it loses some utility.

Could you try another browser and see whether you still have this issue? You might also want to open a support ticket
