Dear Community,

i am new in the Airtable Universe and try to achieve the following:

I have a Set of around 45 columns that i would like to export to a CSV - also with individual delimeter, i need semicolon instead of comma for example.

I use a view to reduce the fields to the set i need.

If possible i would want to do this via automation / script etc.

I would not like to buy any additional programm or tool here, i seek your knowledge of how to script this or maybe with regular automations doable?

Thank you for all input possible on this 🙂

Have a great evening.

Br

Chris

No, this is not possible with Airtable on its own.

There are 2 external apps that can do this for you:

1. CSVGetter
or
2. Make's CSV tools. I discuss automatically importing and exporting CSV files with Make's CSV tools on this episode of the BuiltOnAir podcast.

p.s. If you have a budget for your project and you’d like to hire an expert Airtable consultant to help you with any of this, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consulting — ScottWorld

Hi ScottWorld,

I'm looking into doing the same thing as the original poster; it's been a year since your original reply and I was wondering if you knew if Airtable now offers any tool to automate exporting its data.

Unfortunately, Airtable does not offer any automations for exporting data.

I still have all of my clients setup to do this with Make's CSV automations.

Note that you're not just limited to CSV files. For example, you could use Make's Google Sheets automations to export to Google Sheets. Or you could create PDF files. Or whatever you'd like.

For a demo on how to export to CSV files, check out my Airtable podcast episode here.

Hope this helps!

I could not find a clear answer to this on Make.com or in their provided documentation so I'm hoping someone more experienced here might know something.

Assuming Make's free tier meets my companies needs for exporting a table to CSV a few times a month can we use it or is that meant for non-commercial use only? Their pricing from Free to Pro tiers all say "For individuals" but it's not clear what they mean.
I'm looking at a single user from our organization to have control over the service for only CSV automation (for now).

Obviously I'll reach out to Make directly for a more definitive answer but I would appreciate if anyone here has some insight.

You can choose any tier you want. Your only limit will be the number of operations that you use. The free tier only gives you 1,000 operations per month, which likely won't be enough if you're doing heavy CSV imports.

And you've probably already watched my demonstration on how to setup Make's CSV modules to import your data into Airtable. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/cMA4GPj4iNE?list=PLqssva4liHRwHhQIpTXekG8WObEoyC2F1
