I'm working on a project involving the 'Schedule Campaign' table in Airtable and need advice on implementing a specific logic.

Problem Statement:
In the 'Schedule Campaign' table, users can add an investor and link multiple startups. This data is then used to create a Mailchimp campaign based on a template that only accommodates data for up to 6 startups. The challenge is ensuring that no more than 6 startups are added per campaign, as the system currently allows adding more linked records than needed.

Current Ideas:

1) UI Prompt: Add a text note in the Interface requesting users to add only 6 startups. However, this relies on user compliance and doesn't prevent the addition of more records.
2) Airtable Automation Script: Implement a script to check each row for more than 6 linked startups. Excess startups would be moved to a new row with duplicated investor details. This approach involves scripting, which deviates from a pure no-code solution.
3) Make Integration: Leverage Make to construct the campaign by fetching sets of six startups for each investor. The limitation here is that Make doesn't support dynamic routing, making it challenging to split the data for separate campaigns if an investor is linked to more than six startups.
I am exploring no-code solutions and would greatly appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, or alternative approaches from the community.

Make absolutely supports unlimited dynamic routing. It's one of the Top 100 key benefits that it offers over Zapier.

I would recommend exploring this thread that I created, which gives tons of Make training resources: https://air.tableforums.com/t/make-com-basic-navigation-tips/277

I also created a Make vs. Zapier post here: https://air.tableforums.com/t/make-vs-zapier/737

I happen to be the top Airtable/Make expert in the community. I am also available for hire through my Airtable consultant website.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your response but my query was more from a 'during execution perspective'. Make scenarios can't be edited once the scenario execution starts right? When I said dynamic routing, I meant creating campaign modules as and when the list of startups get populated. So if 6 startups are there, 1 campaign is created, if 12 then 2 and so on.

Sure that’s possible in Make, but you would need to use some advanced techniques in Make like setting & retrieving variables based on math, aggregating groups of records, and filtering groups of records based on their group number. That would take me waaay too long to type up here to train you on all of those Make functions.

Are you working solo or with a company? Have you considered working with an Airtable consultant?

Thank you so much for your suggestion to work with an Airtable consultant. I truly appreciate the value that such expertise could bring to my project. However, at this moment, I am managing my operations with a very limited budget and unfortunately do not have the financial flexibility to hire additional help. I'm committed to learning and applying the necessary Make/Airtable functions myself and will certainly keep the option of professional consulting in mind for the future as circumstances change. For now, I will go through the materials, discussions and videos posted online and in the community.

Thank you again for your understanding and support.

Sounds good. Be sure to check out all of the training resources that I posted. The link I gave you above will take you to approximately 12 hours of training videos.

Yes!!. I am already on the Make certification courses on Make Academy. They are good with hands on practice.
