Hi folks,
Happy Friday. I am searching for some help/guidance on the airtable platform. I think/hope my client's needs are quite straight forward and have outlined them below
1) A full league table, with the following fields: Name, Golf Club, Handicap, Number of 2's this season.
2) Needs to be easy to update at any time and sort to show who is in the lead etc
3) The ability to create a league within a league to play directly against your friends. So for example the overall league may have 1000 players, and there may be 100 additional private leagues with between 2 and 10 people in each. So players would always take part in the overall league but would also potentially play in another league or leagues against a select group of friends
4) This will be displayed on a website, and ideally should have the branding on it and have a golf/sports/competition based theme to make it fit in with the website
5) Ideally the "join now" form on the website will feed the data directly into the overall league setup
6) ideally the "join a private league" form on the website will feed the data directly into a particular created league defined by name
any help would be enormously appreciated!
Many thanks and best wishes
Brian

What difficulties have you encountered while trying to build this out?

Hi @BrianMcCann,
It sounds like this would be very easy to build in Airtable.
Here are 2 tools that might make it easier for you:
1. You may want to check out Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable, if you’re looking for advanced Airtable features and form embedding on your site.
Fillout offers dozens of advanced Airtable features that Airtable’s native forms don’t offer, including dynamic linked record filters (i.e. dynamic dropdown selections), the ability to update Airtable records from a form, the ability to accept payments on forms, the ability to have multi-page forms with conditional paths, the ability to create new linked records on a form, the ability to display Airtable lookup fields & Airtable rollup fields & Airtable attachments & formulas on forms, the ability to perform math or other live calculations on your forms, visually displaying as many fields as you want to see in a linked record selection list (including attachment fields), limiting the number of linked records that can be chosen, and much more.
I give a brief demonstration of Fillout on this episode of the BuiltOnAir Podcast.
2. Noloco’s advanced interfaces & portals for Airtable. Noloco is a full-blown front-end replacement for Airtable that can act as both a customer portal and an advanced interface for Airtable.
What this means is that your league members can view and update all of their own information on your website.
I give a brief tutorial of Noloco on this Airtable podcast episode.
And I also presented a full one-hour webinar on Noloco called Building a Client Portal on Noloco powered by Airtable.
The CEO of Noloco gave a demonstration of his product on this Airtable podcast episode.
p.s. If you have a budget for your project and you’d like to hire an expert Airtable consultant to help you with any of this, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consulting — ScottWorld
