update linked record with fillout ?

Hi there,

I am building a base with 2 tabs: the first one is for data entry and to be linked to the second tab which contains standardized data.  About 5-10% of the data in the second tab updates frequently and the data in tab 1 must reflect the data in tab 2 on the date of entry, meaning the data in tab 1 should maintain the old data and if new data is entered, it will show the most current data from tab 2.

How do you counter this problem?  Any insights or help will be appreciated.  Thank you very much!

Hm could you talk more about the workflow? 

Are new records are being created in Table 1 that need to be linked?  Or is everything already linked and fields are being updated?
