I have a base with a table that contains a large number of duplicates that need to be merged and their duplicates deleted. However, this table is synced to a large number of other tables and I don't have a direct line of sight on ALL of these tables. I'm concerned that when I merge and delete, this will break some portion of the linked records that exist in the tables that belong to other people.

Do any of you know if the dedupe process can cause issues for others who are synced to the table where the dedupe occurs?

Hi,
Does the synced view include all set of records or filtered part of them?
Yes, each time you change the set of record to be sync, you must be careful. If you sync 100 records, then change something in filter of synced view so the amount became 25 for a few seconds, then you entered other letters and set is 100 records again, so it will sync 25, and then again 100. But every change done in additionals editable fields of these 'blinking' 75 record will be gone. Including links.

Anyway, before changing set of records to sync, you can mark records 'to be deleted' and inform users so they can transfer links to the records not marked. You cannot do this by deduper but you can, to resolve duplicates in field, duplicate it and turn to link to a new table. In that table, add count field and manage further by rollups and lookups.

Hm, that's a good workaround in your second paragraph there. The problem with the views question is that there are multiple views that are being synced out and there are likely dupes in all of them. I'm not sure if what you're saying about the blinking.

I'm not sure if what you're saying about the blinking.  - please disregard this part. I had such troubles long time ago, but now, when I wanted to explain with screenshots, I see that Airtable changed it's behavior and additional data still remain in place in destination table, when in source several records are filtered out of view and then shown again.

about views, here you can see list of syncs in all base, and their sync activity.
