If you only have a single field (column) in a table, there shouldn’t be any horizontal scroll bar. That scroll bar only appears when the width of your fields (including the new field button to the right of the last field) gets too big to display based on your window size. Are you on a small screen, perhaps with your single field stretched really wide so that it completely fills the available space?
